'Urdy' Bird Project (Attic24) - Complete

I was recommended a visit to Attic24 (a good suggestion too) and stumbled upon this little project that was screaming to be tried and tested, so i did.

I'm really chuffed with my little Urdy (as Edie has affectionatly named her) and she has taken up residence on the wall by the window in Edie's bedroom.

I must say, im very impressed with this project, the pattern was very easy to follow and everything generally fell into place in a simple manner. He stands at around 30cm (at a guess) so he is fairly tall. I need a trip to the market some eyes but thats it, voila....Mr G Raff

I would love to see this in a 'pink on pink' version (for a baby girl?) maybe thats one for the future...

The big house move

We'll were still 'on the market' it's been about a month now and as always with the best laid timing were looking to sell our humble abode in a property slump....sigh.

At the end of 2011 hubs and i were made aware of a bungalow on a stunning little cul-de-sac near to his mothers home and where he grew up...its perfect, we'll we could make it perfect. The front view isn't much to look at but the sloping rear garden backs onto row upto row of open fields and greenery, i could sit and look out across those fields for hours. The price is good, the condition....not so good, if we manage to get this home we will have one heck of a renovation job on our hands, attic would be converted (it's currently only a 2 bed) a world away from the luxury of our spanky new build 3 bed but we could strip it back and start from scratch, the attic would become a huuuuge master bedroom complete with ensuite and fitted dressing room/wardrobe - ch-ching!

I'm so totally excited by this....i found a beautiful pattern on Ravelry (my new fantastic addiction - how FAB is that site) The pattern was for a Giraffe, very cute and standing rather tall too. I will add a link to the pattern once i get a completed photo posted.

The pattern was FREE too (result) and as i'm a bit of a novice with Crochet patterns at the moment i decided 'what the heck, its the weekend...go for it girl, so i did'

Granny Blanket Squares - continued

I'm feeling more than sorry for myself today, i have an awful cold and hurrendous sore throat (i ended up dragging myself downstairs last night hunting for throat sweets in the dark) My darling husband has suggested an allergy to all the decorating this weekend...charming!

Anyway, onto the subject of Granny Squares...so far i've made eight, yes eight! I'm still in single figures but there is no rush so i'm spreading it out. I'm quite proud of them, the colours look great and after finding two more balls of wool in the car at the weekend (yellow and brown) it's looking prettier by the day.

I'm off now to hunt down some more throat sweets and to get a large mug of hot honey and lemon
